Job Summary
Carry training aids to be detected by canines in simulated or actual working environments for the Customs and Border Protection Canine Training Center. Perform a variety of functions that enhance training provided for canine detection capabilities, including hiding in closed spaces like vehicle trunks, closets, or dense vegetation. Remain quiet while lying, sitting, or standing for extended periods up to one hour. Avoid fear of canines and adhere to the dress code. Submit to and pass a criminal background check. Work 6-8 hours two days per week at $15.50/hr with no minimum hour guarantee.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to hide in closed spaces (i.e. vehicle trunks, closets, dense vegetation, etc.)
- Must be able to lie, sit, and/or stand quietly for an extended period of time (up to one hour)
- Should not have fear of canines
- Must be US Citizens
- 18 years or older
- Must have a current REAL ID
- Must be willing to adhere to a dress code
- Must submit to and pass a criminal background check
