Job Summary

Process requests for release of health information, FMLA paperwork, and patient records for internal and external clinics in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Communicate with patients, insurance companies, attorneys, and third-party payers to verify release needs, monitor provider approvals, and coordinate third-party record audits. Sort and prioritize incoming information including faxes, emails, mail, and calls, while documenting all releases within the EHR system and maintaining patient confidentiality. Answer and triage patient, staff, and provider calls regarding the Patient Portal and provide escalation support for other departments. Batch and file records, manage mail support for HIM Teams, and ensure proper authorization for all releases. Complete work accurately and efficiently, promoting a culture of caring through daily interactions with internal and external customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Administrative experience in an office setting

  • Microsoft Office applications
  • Office equipment, including fax, copier, multi-line phone system, etc.
