Job Summary
Review requestor information against HIPAA guidelines to determine records for release, obtaining pertinent data from electronic, off-site, or physical sources. Answer phone calls regarding ROI issues and process requests from physician offices on a priority basis, faxes information as needed. Log all medical record requests and scan records into the ROI On-Line database. Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified client sites while complying with facility policies. Work independently to meet production goals established by MRO.
Required Qualifications
- One or more years experience entering data into computer systems
- Experience using the internet
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Demonstrated success working in an environment that requires attention to detail
- Proven track record of dependability
- High School Diploma/GED
Desired Qualifications
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or HIM Department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
