Job Summary
Review requestor information and pertinent patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical records to determine what to release in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Answer phone calls concerning ROI issues, respond to walk-in customers, and process requests from physician offices on a priority basis. Log medical record requests and scan records into the ROI On-Line database while handling cash payments for requests at specified client sites. Comply with site facility policies and regulations. Requires proficiency with computer applications, strong verbal communication skills, and the ability to work independently to meet production goals.
Required Qualifications
- One or more years experience entering data into computer systems
- Experience using the internet
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Success working in an environment that requires attention to detail
- Proven track record of dependability
- High School Diploma/GED
Desired Qualifications
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or HIM Department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
