Job Summary
Review requestor information and pertinent patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical records to determine documents for release in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Answer phone calls and respond to walk-in customers or physician offices, logging all medical record requests and scanning records into the ROI On-Line database. Handle and record cash payments for requests while complying with site facility policies and regulations. Work independently to meet production goals in a remote or on-site capacity across the United States.
Required Qualifications
- One or more years experience entering data into computer systems
- Experience using the internet
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Success working in an environment that requires attention to detail
- Proven track record of dependability
- High School Diploma/GED
Desired Qualifications
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or HIM Department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
