Job Summary
Review requestor information and pertinent patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical records to determine what to release in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Answer phone calls and walk-in customer inquiries regarding medical record requests, logging details into the ROI On-Line database and processing physician office requests via fax. Scan medical records into the database and handle cash payments for requests at specified client sites throughout the United States. Work independently to meet production goals while complying with site facility policies and regulations.
Required Qualifications
- One or more years experience entering data into computer systems
- Experience using the internet
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Demonstrated success working in an environment that requires attention to detail
- Proven track record of dependability
- High School Diploma/GED
Desired Qualifications
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or HIM Department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
