Job Summary
Review requestor information to determine records for release in accordance with HIPAA guidelines, obtaining pertinent patient data from electronic, off-site, or physical sources. Answer phone calls regarding ROI issues and respond to walk-in customers by logging information into the ROI On-Line database. Process requests from physician offices on a priority basis, faxes information, and scan medical records into the database. Handle and record cash payments for requests at specified sites while complying with facility policies. Log all medical record requests into the ROI On-Line database. Work independently to meet production goals established by MRO.
Required Qualifications
- One or more years experience entering data into computer systems
- Experience using the internet
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success responding to customer inquiries
- Ability to work independently and meet production goals
- Demonstrated success working in an environment that requires attention to detail
- Proven track record of dependability
- High School Diploma/GED
Desired Qualifications
- Prior work experience in Release of Information in a physician's office or HIM Department
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations
