Job Summary
Lead and manage a field survey crew conducting topographic, construction staking, and other land surveys while setting up GPS equipment, total stations, and levels. Ensure accurate data collection, precise measurements, and detailed field notes documenting site conditions. Coordinate daily tasks and schedules to meet project deadlines, interpret survey data for design recommendations, and resolve discrepancies encountered in the field. Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and engineers regarding requirements and progress. Maintain organized records, submit detailed survey reports with maps and digital files, and ensure all work complies with regulations and safety standards. Requires 3-5 years of experience, leadership skills, and proficiency with Trimble equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Trimble equipment experience
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team and coordinate with other stakeholders
- Problem-solving abilities to address challenges that arise in the field
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data collection and reporting
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate or bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, civil engineering, or a related field is a plus
- 3-5 years of experience in land surveying and/or construction layout, with at least 1-2 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Electrical, Structural and Civil plan reading experience, a plus
- AutoCAD and Microsoft office experience, a plus
- Experience with a variety of survey types, including boundary, topographic, construction staking, and ALTA/NSPS surveys
- Proficiency in using surveying equipment such as GPS units, total stations, levels, and data collectors
