Rocky Mountain - Evacuation Coordinator

Job Summary

Coordinate all aspects of in-field support, including instructor and student field evacuations, for courses at Lander, the Rocky Mountain River Base, and Three Peaks Ranch. Carry the evacuation phone 24/7 for 3-5 days to facilitate the experience of evacuated students with respect, compassion, and accountability. Coach field staff on risk management documentation, train them on evacuation protocols, and collaborate with the Evacuation Manager to create vision and systems for the office. Calculate evacuation expenses, submit reports to finance, and make emergency contact calls regarding student behavioral issues or evacuations.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be an active NOLS field instructor
  • Attention to detail with organization of paperwork and evac office systems
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to support instructors, students, and parents during challenging or emergent situations
  • Ability to task-switch quickly between field phone calls and organizing logistics, while keeping track of all details related to different situations being managed simultaneously from the field
  • Be a team player, within the program department and throughout all NOLS Rocky Mountain departments
  • A criminal background check is required from all NOLS employees
