Job Summary

Lead rock climbing classes, programs, and open climb sessions for participants of various ages and skill levels. Teach climbing fundamentals, including belaying, movement techniques, and equipment use, while explaining and demonstrating proper safety procedures. Belay participants and supervise open climbing sessions, enforcing safety rules and risk management practices at all times. Maintain gym operations through setup, organization, and cleanliness, and complete required documentation including attendance, waivers, and inspection logs. Participate in events, competitions, or special programs as needed, while attending required trainings and communicating scheduling needs.

Required Qualifications

  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • Previous climbing experience
  • belay certification or prior instruction experience
  • Strong understanding of climbing safety practices and risk management
  • Ability to lead groups and engage participants of diverse ages and backgrounds
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive and encouraging leadership style
  • Mondays 4-6 pm
  • Wednesdays 11 am - 2 pm
  • Thursdays 4-8:15 pm
  • Saturdays 10 am - 2 pm

Desired Qualifications

  • belay certification or prior instruction experience preferred
