Job Summary
Set up, run, and maintain 3- and 5-axis CNC mills and lathes while performing regular maintenance and inspections. Operate FDM and SLA 3-D printers, post-process parts, and validate fit and finish. Assemble electromechanical subsystems, integrate wiring, and bring full robots to life through build and rework. Diagnose mechanical failures, swap components, and document fixes while providing real-time feedback on design for manufacturing and tolerances to engineers. Keep the prototype lab organized, safe, and stocked with consumables. Eligible to work in the U.S. and available for on-site roles in San Francisco.
Required Qualifications
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
- Available to work on-site in San Francisco
- Hands-on experience running CNC equipment or industrial 3-D printers
- CAM/CAD fluency (Fusion 360, SolidWorks)
- Ability to read mechanical drawings, GD&T, and basic wiring diagrams
- Pro at hand tools, fasteners, soldering, and safe shop practices
- Maker mindset: you iterate quickly, keep clear notes, balance process with agility in a fast-moving environment, and own quality from first chip to final assembly
Desired Qualifications
- Hands-on experience running CNC equipment or industrial 3-D printers (2+ years preferred)
- Ability to manufacture high complexity parts and maintain tight tolerances for mating components
- Experience in inspecting precision-machined parts using manual tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, height gauges) and automated systems, ensuring conformance to tight tolerances and GD&T requirements
- Hands-on experience fabricating composite structures combining materials such as carbon fiber, fiberglass, and aluminum; including layup, bonding, mechanical fastening, and post-processing.
- Experience with building and working with/around robots
- Basic PCB re-work, crimping, or harness fabrication
- OSHA 10 or other safety certifications
