Job Summary
Part-time Robotics Head Coach to lead and supervise Archbishop Murphy High School's AMHS Robotics Team participating in the VEX Robotics program. Responsibilities include overseeing daily operations of the robotics program, collaborating with team members and volunteers for fundraising, coordinating with school departments on administrative aspects, managing after-school and weekend practices, supervising practices and competitions, communicating with students, parents/guardians, and faculty, and coordinating field trips/team travel. The role emphasizes mentoring high school students, building a positive team dynamic, and leveraging robotics, engineering, and programming knowledge. Compensation includes a $3,000 stipend (not eligible for benefits). Preferred: BA or higher in a STEM field and/or relevant robotics experience; secondary teaching experience and/or Washington state teaching certificate are preferred but not required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to work with teenagers as a coach/mentor
- Knowledge of technology/engineering/programming and/or experience coaching robotics or similar activities
- BA or higher in STEM field or relevant robotics experience
- Secondary teaching experience and a current Washington State Teaching certificate preferred but not required
