Job Summary
Lead Robotics & Controls Engineer responsible for designing, commissioning, and supporting industrial robotic and PLC-based automation systems across full project lifecycles. Manages robotics integration, controls programming, SCADA development, system testing, onsite startup, and provides technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams while interfacing directly with clients and vendors to ensure deliverables meet design specifications, reliability, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of relevant industry experience
- Hands-on experience with industrial robotics (FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Epson, or equivalent)
- PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, and/or Mitsubishi)
- Experience designing and commissioning robotic cells from concept to startup
- Knowledge of material handling systems, conveyance, and end-of-arm tooling
- Experience developing Ignition SCADA systems
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer-facing skills
- Ability to train and mentor engineering teams
- Willingness to relocate to Aurora, OH (required by client)
