Job Summary
Deliver a 10-session beginner robotics coding course after school, using site-approved robotics kits (e.g., LEGO, Sphero, Ozobot, VEX) to teach basic programming concepts through hands-on challenges. Create a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment, guide students through step-by-step builds and coding activities, adapt pacing to student readiness, and collaborate with site staff to track attendance and session outcomes. Requires a minimum of 60 college credits (or an Associate degree in progress/completed) and experience with beginner robotics kits, school-age programming, and facilitating STEM activities; strong communication and classroom-management skills; comfortable using Chromebooks/tablets for robotics programming.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 60 college credits (or Associate degree in progress/completed)
- Experience with beginner robotics kits and/or platforms such as LEGO robotics, Sphero, Ozobot, or VEX (one or more)
- Experience working with school-age students in structured settings (school, camp, after-school, tutoring, youth programs)
- Strong facilitation skills, clear communication, and comfort leading hands-on STEM activities
- Reliable, punctual, and professional; able to follow school policies and program boundaries
- Comfort supporting students on Chromebooks, tablets, or school-issued devices used to program robotics kits
