Job Summary
Robotics Coach and STEM Teacher to lead Scottsdale Christian Academy’s robotics program and teach engineering/STEM courses for grades 6-12. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring FRC/FTC teams, organizing after-school robotics meetings and competitions, maintaining tools and spaces, expanding program offerings, coordinating project-based STEM classes in the Makerspace with emphasis on coding, circuitry and the engineering design process, developing a cohesive K-12 curriculum with elementary HUB collaboration, creating syllabi aligned to school goals, employing diverse instructional methods to engage the whole student, promoting student leadership, and maintaining ACSI certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a science, engineering or education-related field from an accredited college
- Master's Degree preferred
- Past experience teaching STEM-related classes and coaching a robotics team preferred
- State teaching certification preferred
- Ability to design lessons that teach curriculum in an engaging manner
- Ability to develop authentic relationships with young adults
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills to manage the classroom and lead a robotics team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills with the proven ability to maintain professionalism and tact in high-stress situations
- Excellent organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software; Knowledge of FACTS a plus
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement
- Physical ability: bend, stoop, twist, lift up to 50 pounds, etc.
