Job Summary
The Robotic Welder operates GMAW welding equipment to tack weld and assemble pole shafts into pole assemblies, reading drawings to determine needed parts, positioning shafts with a turner, and using a plasma torch and various jigs to cut and finish parts. Responsibilities include locating and gathering parts, lifting components with a jib crane, measuring with tape measures, micrometers, levels, and other precision tools, and performing welds and assembly for pole structures. Safety awareness is required, with lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined areas; must maintain necessary certifications and be prepared for potential training needs. Shift is 3rd shift (11:00 pm–7:00 am) with starting hourly pay of $24.47 plus $1.00 per hour shift differential, and opportunities for discretionary bonus and step pay increases.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to read and write English
- Ability to use common manufacturing math
- 6 months previous experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment, and/or have graduated from an acceptable Technical Training Program focused in welding
- Must pass GMAW 1-G flat plate and/or rotational weld test and maintain certification
- Highly Qualified High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year of previous experience welding in an assembly environment
- 1 year of previous experience welding in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- 1 year of previous experience operating hand and/or power tools
- Possess the ability to accurately and honestly check one’s own work for quality assurance
