Robotic Scarfer

Robotic Scarfer role based in Burns Harbor, IN, responsible for visually inspecting slabs being processed to ensure defects are removed, executing scarfing per mill speed instructions, completing daily robotic inspection forms, data-entry of IFS sequence numbers, reporting mechanical/electrical malfunctions, performing all scarfing activities per SOPs, cleaning robotic gear up to three times per shift, and collaborating with the Shift Foreman, Hand Scarfer, and Crane Operator. May perform duties of Hand Scarfer or Crane Operator and assist with shoveling; requires robotics experience, mechanical aptitude, flame equipment knowledge, and computer literacy.
