Job Summary
Robot Learning Research Engineer skilled in designing and implementing ML algorithms for humanoid and industrial robots, with emphasis on Vision Language Action models, multimodal transformers, reinforcement and imitation learning, sim-to-real transfer, and continual learning across digital twins and real-world deployment. You’ll build scalable data pipelines, work with real-time robotic controllers, and advance perception, reasoning, and decision-making using state-of-the-art robotics ML techniques. Must hold a Master’s or PhD in a related field, have hands-on robotics experience, be proficient in Python and C++, and be eligible to work in Austria with relocation to Graz/Pischelsdorf. Hybrid work option available and relocation support is provided. Salary range EUR 65k-90k (converted to USD) with a minimum gross salary of €4,492.58 per month on an all-inclusive basis as per Austrian metalworking collective agreement.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field
- Practical experience with real-time robotic controllers and hands-on work with robotic hardware
- Hands-on experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX
- Experience with robotic platforms and simulators (MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, PyBullet, etc.)
- Familiarity with ROS/ROS 2 and proficiency in Python and C++
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and collaborative skills
- A valid work permit for Austria is required
- Relocation to Austria (Graz - Pischelsdorf Area)
