Job Summary
Support and lead month-end and year-end close processes, managing detailed accruals, journal entries, and reconciliations while controlling expenses and budgets across multiple departments. Develop accurate short- and long-term financial forecasts for departments and entities, including comprehensive payroll and headcount modeling. Query and manipulate massive datasets using SQL and Snowflake to uncover business trends, then conceptualize and present Key Performance Indicators tailored to distribution operations. Act as a strategic partner across various departments to build relationships and drive cross-functional alignment, translating complex data and financial metrics into clear, visually engaging presentations for non-financial stakeholders. Proactively propose strategic options to senior leadership to optimize efficiency and profitability. This role requires 5+ years of experience in financial planning and accounting within the distribution industry, with a salary range of $100,000 to $125,000. This is a remote position requiring Eastern Standard Time hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) with a foundational background in accounting
- Proven experience working within the distribution, supply chain, or logistics industry
- Expert-level proficiency in Advanced Excel including extensive experience with Power Query and Power Pivot
- Hands-on experience building interactive dashboards using Power BI or Qlik
- Strong proficiency in SAP and Snowflake
- Ability to write complex, efficient SQL queries to extract and analyze large datasets independently
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a knack for storytelling through data
