Job Summary
Roasting Manager leads coffee roasting operations and inventory to ensure timely production, maintains quality across Buddy Brew Coffee's Retail, Wholesale, and Grocery channels, tracks green and roasted inventories, and partners with Retail, Grocery, and Wholesale teams to optimize roast profiles and meet product requirements. Responsibilities include establishing daily roasting/packaging production schedules via ShipStation, Cropster, and the Company Portal; ensuring compliance with Florida Department of Agriculture and FDA food safety requirements; maintaining organic certification records (CCOF Organic) and GMP standards; managing quality initiatives through cupping and sensory evaluation; evaluating green coffee offerings and sourcing opportunities; and maintaining documentation of purchases, inventory movements, and production numbers. Emphasis on professional communications, upkeep of workspaces and equipment, and proactive maintenance to minimize downtime. Essential skills include proficiency with Excel/Word, ability to obtain forklift certification, valid driver’s license, attention to detail, procedural follow-through, and accurate daily production documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Education – Minimum High School degree
- Computer skills in Excel and Word
- Capable to becoming a licensed forklift operator
- A valid state issued driver’s license without major infractions
- Ability to use Quicken Books, MS Word, MS Excel
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency
- Attention to detail
- Ability to follow procedures
- Ability to clearly and neatly document daily production numbers for tracking purposes
