Job Summary
The Roaming Environmental Field Specialist II acts as Waste Technician for various customers across the United States, coordinating subcontractors and adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities include preparing paperwork for hazardous waste shipping, conducting site inspections, running analytical equipment, and performing waste sampling. The role requires knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations, along with a background in Chemistry or Environmental Science. Travel (60-75% of the time) for out-of-town assignments is required, along with customer service skills and the ability to handle hazardous materials.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- General college science background in Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Services, Environmental Science or comparable work experience
- 1-3 years of related Operations experience
- Ability to classify waste according to RCRA, EPA, and DOT regulations
- Ability to learn proper methods for handling hazardous materials and wastes
- Customer service skills
Desired Qualifications
- In depth knowledge of RCRA, DOT, and EPA regulations
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including intermediate level understanding of Excel and Outlook
