Job Summary
Roadway Engineer II at Parsons in the Nashville/Brentwood, TN area leads the development of contract documents for transportation projects, provides technical direction, analyzes design issues, delivers detailed designs and analyses, and mentors staff. Responsibilities include defining scope, preparing budgets and schedules, planning work, and reporting status; delivering detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, and design packages; supporting other disciplines; and guiding CAD designers and junior engineers on roadway design, with emphasis on DOT design practices and 3D finite element modeling.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
- 5+ years of related work experience
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate may be required
- Proficiency in CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with road engineering
- Experience in developing 3D finite elements models
- DOT Road and wall design experience
