Job Summary
Assign, track, and review tasks for technicians, designers, and engineers to ensure adherence to project schedules and QC final work product. Prepare engineering reports and contract documents while performing independent peer reviews of plans and calculations from other teams. Analyze and prepare roadway and Temporary Traffic Control Plans using DOT and local jurisdiction criteria. Develop 3D Models of roadways using Corridor Modeling in GEOPAK and/or Open Roads. Coordinate with other disciplines throughout the project, propose innovative solutions to design problems, and present proposed team design solutions to internal meetings and external parties. Mentor team members and provide feedback on career development. Bachelor's degree in civil or Transportation Engineering, Professional Engineer licensure, and 4+ years of progressive transportation engineering design experience are required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil or Transportation Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE)
- Minimum of 4+ years' experience, with 3-5 years of progressive engineering design experience with emphasis on transportation engineering
- Understanding and familiarity with AASHTO, MUTCD, and DOT Design Guidelines and Standards
- Experience in maintenance of traffic and traffic control
- Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements
- Knowledge of relevant civil construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements
- Capable interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience
- Effective self-leadership with attention to detail, results orientation, and managing multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
