Job Summary
Roadway Engineer 1 supports development of basic roadway geometric design and related tasks for transportation projects under supervision. Responsibilities include preparing layout drawings, construction details, design calculations, and progress reports; reviewing project proposals to help set objectives; applying regulatory requirements to ensure designs comply with standards and regulations; and continuous learning through training and publications. The role emphasizes basic problem solving, digital literacy, and potential certification (EIT) with the possibility to obtain licensure within one year. Experience with Microsoft Office is expected; familiarity with Bentley MicroStation or OpenRoads is preferred. Travel about 5% is required. Entry-level professionals will contribute to public works projects under the guidance of a registered professional engineer.
Required Qualifications

- Must be competent in using Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of Bentley Microstation or Openroads preferred
- Ability to travel 5% of the time
