Job Summary
General Maintenance Worker in the Roads & Grounds Department at Ft. Knox, KY. Perform minor adjustments and repairs to plumbing, architectural and structural building components and light carpentry; concrete work; tree trimming, mowing, trimming bushes, and herbicide spraying. Conduct preventative maintenance, paint cross walks and parking lots, complete required paperwork, and patch holes using plaster or compound. Heavy lifting and use of chainsaw, painting structures/equipment, concrete forming/finishing, and aerial lift work (bucket truck) are part of duties. Requires常 exposure to outdoor conditions, ability to work various schedules, and adherence to safety protocols. Must be able to read, write, and speak English and pass required screenings; must have a valid KY driver’s license and may need security clearance/base access. Minimum six months of maintenance-related experience and a High School diploma or GED are required. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401k, and base pay of $22.91/hour (~$47,653/year). Priority may be given to veterans and individuals with disabilities per AbilityOne guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Class B CDL preferred
- At least six (6) months of experience
- Regularly required to stand, walk, climb ladders
- Lift 50lbs up to 10 times per day
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening
- Ability to work outside in inclement weather
- Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access if required
