Job Summary
Road Service Technician responsible for emergency roadside repairs and diagnostics on diesel vehicles and equipment, including brake, electrical, and powertrain work; perform engine and AC/emission-related tasks, test-drive equipment, obtain parts as needed, maintain safety and professional communication with Dispatch and management, and complete documentation promptly; requires valid driver’s license and DOT Medical Card, high school diploma or GED with diesel repair training, proficiency with diesel diagnostic software, and strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Required Qualifications
- A valid driver’s license
- Current DOT Medical Card
- Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
- Good interpersonal skills and effective communication skills
- High school diploma or GED and certification and training in diesel engine repair
- Advanced knowledge of vehicles, their electrical systems, and the mechanisms of gas and diesel engines
- Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
