Job Summary
Road Mechanic to repair and maintain diesel and gasoline heavy equipment and trucks in the field. Responsibilities include reviewing job orders, diagnosing malfunctions, identifying and replacing parts, dismantling and rebuilding components, testing to ensure repairs meet manufacturer specifications, performing engine overhauls, and conducting front-end alignments. Requires high school diploma or GED, CDL B (with relevant experience preferred), clean driving record, proficiency with Caterpillar ET&SIS and general computer skills, ability to use hand tools, torch, and welder, PPE compliance, and physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Company benefits include paid health coverage and a company vehicle; work involves OSHA/DoT compliance and potential long hours. Pay range is $18-$40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED)
- CDL B
- Clean driving record
- Customer Service and Teamwork
- General computer knowledge as well as caterpillar software (ET &SIS)
- Ability to use mechanics hand tools, torch, and welder
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
