Job Summary
Review job orders and listen to operators to identify equipment malfunctions, then dismantle trucks to examine and replace defective parts. Overhaul gas or diesel engines, perform diagnostics using computers, and conduct front-end inspections and alignments. Drive to various locations in Western PA to perform repairs on heavy equipment and trucks, adhering to OSHA, PA, and DoT regulations. Assembles machines, test drives vehicles to verify corrections, and fits tests using appropriate PPE. Requires CDL B, clean driving record, and ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Hours regularly exceed 40 weeks and 8 days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR relevant experience and/or training
- CDL B
- Clean driving record
- General computer knowledge
- Caterpillar software (ET &SIS)
- Ability to use mechanics hand tools
- Ability to use torch
- Ability to use welder
- Ability to fit test
- Ability to utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be available to drive up to two hours
- Must be available to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Must be available to work outdoors in all environments
- Must be available for hours that regularly exceed 40 hours a week and 8 hours a day
- Must be able to perform work adhering to OSHA, PA and DoT regulations
- Must be able to adhere to H&K Safety policies
Desired Qualifications
- Related experience and/or training
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
- Technical school or college in the heavy equipment field
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- CDL A
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
