Job Summary
Review job orders, observe operators to determine malfunctions, and plan work procedures for diesel and gasoline heavy equipment and trucks in the Lehigh Valley area. Drive to various locations, dismantle equipment to examine parts, replace defective components, and perform diagnostics using computers and various tools. Overhaul gas or diesel engines, assemble machines, test operate equipment, and conduct front-end inspections and alignments while adhering to OSHA, PA, and DoT regulations. Requires CDL B, clean driving record, and ability to meet physical demands including lifting up to 75 pounds. Hours regularly exceed 40 weeks.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution OR relevant experience and/or training
- CDL B
- Clean driving record
- General computer knowledge as well as caterpillar software (ET &SIS)
- Ability to use mechanics hand tools, torch, and welder
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Related experience and/or training
- High school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution
- Technical school or college in the heavy equipment field
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- CDL A
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
