Job Summary
Road Maintenance Officer responsible for inspecting road surfaces, drainage systems, and related infrastructure to identify maintenance and repair needs; performing patching, sealing, and resurfacing; operating heavy equipment (compactors, pavers, graders) in accordance with safety protocols; responding to road damage reports and emergencies; coordinating with traffic management personnel to ensure public safety; documenting maintenance activities and equipment usage for records; maintaining safety practices and communicating project progress to team members and supervisors; performing minor repairs and troubleshooting on maintenance equipment; maintaining a clean and organized work environment; requires 2-3 years of field-based road maintenance experience, heavy machinery proficiency, strong road safety and traffic management knowledge, and a valid Australian driver’s license; certifications include heavy vehicle license (HR/HC), First Aid, and Traffic Management; prior local government or transportation authority experience preferred.
