Job Summary
Road Crew Operator responsible for directing traffic and supporting transportation services at events. Responsibilities include assisting with shuttle/trolley/tram operations and special event transportation, setting up and monitoring traffic control devices (cones, barricades, signs, lane closures), guiding vehicle and pedestrian traffic during high-volume periods, coordinating with Public Safety and event staff on road closures and emergency access, monitoring loading/unloading zones, providing guests with directions and transportation information, assisting with parking operations during festivals and events, conducting routine vehicle inspections and reporting safety concerns, maintaining radio communications, responding to weather conditions, and supporting ADA transportation accommodations and emergency procedures. Requires a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and a valid driver’s license, plus experience in transportation, traffic control, security, hospitality, or event operations. Strong communication and customer service skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and ability to stay calm under pressure are essential.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required
- Previous transportation, traffic control, security, hospitality, or event operations experience preferred
- Ability to safely operate golf carts, shuttles, trolleys, or utility vehicles preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-traffic or high-stress situations
- Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and 25 pounds frequently
- Ability to stand for long hours
- Ability to sit for extended periods
- Be able to positively motivate and lead a team
- Be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
- Be able to work well in high-pressure situations while maintaining composure and objectivity
- Be able to identify potential guest issues and develop methodologies to prevent or limit impact
- Be able to assimilate complex information and data from various sources
- Be able to listen to and clarify concerns of team members and guests
- Be able to work with and understand financial information and data and perform basic math functions
