Job Summary
Verifies quantity, quality, and labeling of products ready for shipment by performing packing duties: assembling boxes, affixing labels, selecting box types and liners, and palletizing boxes to match customer specifications. Maintains safety and accuracy in packaging processes, with emphasis on reading and interpreting safety rules and operating procedures, and meeting productivity standards in a first-shift, Monday–Friday schedule. Requires the ability to lift 25–50 pounds repeatedly, stand/walk for long periods, and adapt to a loud, sometimes harsh manufacturing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to speak, read and write in English
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written and oral form
- Basic knowledge of computers and data input
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods; lift 25-50 pounds; tolerate wet/humid conditions and exposure to moving machinery
