Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care in outpatient surgery while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate patient care with other departments and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of information are maintained consistent with Mercy Service Standards. This role requires active RN licensure, at least one year of perioperative nursing experience, and BLS/ACLS certification within the first year. Candidates must demonstrate continued competence in assisting and hold CNOR or RN-First Assistant certification if available. The position involves physical demands including lifting 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and repetitive gripping, reaching, and bending.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN licensure in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- RN-First Assistant certification class
