Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care in the outpatient surgery setting while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, ensuring patient rights and confidentiality of information are maintained. Requires active RN licensure and a minimum of one year perioperative nursing experience. BLS/ACLS certification is required within the first year, with CNOR or RN-First Assistant certification preferred. The role involves prolonged standing, walking, and physical tasks including lifting 50 lbs. This position is available on a PRN basis for team members working 32+ hours per pay period.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN licensure in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience
- BLS/ACLS certification
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- RN-First Assistant certification class
