Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in outpatient surgery settings while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate patient care with other departments and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct caregivers. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld consistent with Mercy Service Standards. Requires active RN licensure, minimum one year perioperative experience, and BLS/ACLS certification within the first year. Physical duties include pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs, along with prolonged standing, walking, and repetitive gripping, reaching, and bending.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN licensure in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience
- BLS/ACLS certification within first year
- Continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- RN-First Assistant certification class
