Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in outpatient surgery settings. Maintain professional accountability for care provision and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality of information. Perform duties consistent with Mercy Service Standards, including assisting and perioperative nursing tasks. Requires active RN licensure, minimum one year perioperative experience, and BLS/ACLS certifications within the first year. Involves prolonged standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN licensure in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience
- BLS/ACLS certification within first year
- Continued competence in assisting and in perioperative nursing
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- RN-First Assistant certification class
