Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned patients in outpatient surgery, maintaining professional accountability and evaluating the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while ensuring patient rights and confidentiality of information are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards. Requires active RN licensure, minimum one year perioperative experience, and BLS/ACLS certification within the first year. Demonstrates continued competence in assisting and perioperative nursing, with CNOR or RN-First Assistant certification preferred. Position involves prolonged standing, walking, and physical tasks including lifting 50 lbs. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Active RN licensure in the state of practice
- Minimum of 1 year perioperative nursing experience
- BLS/ACLS certification within first year
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
Desired Qualifications
- CNOR certification
- RN-First Assistant certification class
