Job Summary
Conduct safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the OR and perioperative services as an RN first assistant during operative and invasive procedures. Deliver care in the role of an RN circulator when required, adhering to scope of practice credentials, privileges, experience, education, and competency verification. Maintain current Georgia Registered Nurse license or NLC/eNLC Multistate License, CNOR certification, and BLS certification. Complete AORN-RN First Assistant program with didactic and clinical components, holding two years of perioperative RN or RNFA experience (three years in CVOR preferred). This role supports the perioperative continuum at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from a school of nursing
- Completion of an AORN-RN First Assistant program, which includes didactic and clinical components
- Two years perioperative RN or RNFA experience
- If working in the CVOR, minimum experience of three years as an RN or Surgical Tech in the CVOR
- Certified Nurse, Operating Room (CNOR) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License
Desired Qualifications
- RN First Assistant certification (CRNFA)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification, depending on patient population
