Job Summary
Manage and direct the Wound Care staff team while developing evidence-based protocols and practice standards for managing patients with wounds, ostomies, and incontinence. Lead the development of a cost-effective wound care program, monitor patient outcomes, and perform documentation audits to ensure compliance with established protocols. Provide direct consultation to physicians on wound status, advise on debridement procedures, and collaborate with the dietary team to identify nutritional deficiencies. This hospital-wide, population-based role involves establishing guidelines for consult prioritization, participating in Quality Improvement plans, and maintaining statistical reports for key committees. The position requires a Bachelor of Science in nursing, two years of wound care experience, and a current CWOCN or CWCN certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing
- Minimum two years experience in wound care
- Minimum one year acute care nursing experience
- Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN); or Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN)
- Current California RN license
- Current BLS card
