Job Summary
Provide expert consultation and direct care for complex wounds, assessing, planning, and evaluating individualized care while educating patients and staff on best practices. Monitor outcomes to ensure protocol adherence and promote an interdisciplinary approach to wound/ostomy care and PICC line insertions within the hospital setting. Independently assess, plan, implement, and evaluate wound care for patients, documenting skin conditions on progress notes and assessment records. Observe the wound care of other team members to assume a resource and clinical education role, giving direction to staff regarding specialty bed usage and identifying educational needs for classes. Requires three years of clinical experience in wound/ostomy care and PICC line insertion, with a BSN preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Three (3) years of clinical experience
- experience in woundostomy care
- PICC line insertion
- Registered Nurse: RN
- Basic Life Support - BLS
- High School Graduate or GED
