Job Summary
Provide direct patient care using the nursing process across antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal intensive care settings. Plan, implement, and evaluate care plans to optimize outcomes while monitoring and communicating patient conditions. Collaborate across disciplines for transfers and discharge, and educate patients and families on age-appropriate needs. Delegate care to ancillary personnel and precept student nurses or new hires. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. NRP certification required within 30 days; ACLS within three months.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience
- State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Relevant certification as determined at position level
- 6 months of Women and Infants nursing (RN) experience or completion of the UCHealth Fellowship program
- NRP required within 30 days of hire
- ACLS required within 3 months of hire
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
