Job Summary
Provide patient care for assigned patients in the Progressive Care Unit, coordinating with other departments while maintaining professional accountability and patient confidentiality. Manage acute cardiac, respiratory distress, and septic patients who are too sick for the floor but not yet ICU level, utilizing strong assessment skills and teamwork in a fast-paced unit combining ED and ICU aspects. Work nights for 24 hours per week. This intermediate unit serves as a step down from intensive care and a step above med-surg.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
