Job Summary
Conduct weekend nursing coverage for patients and families via phone and in-person visits, including hospice admissions and emergency responses. Serve as the first responder for symptom-based calls after hours, assess physical and mental health, and implement prescribed treatment and pharmaceutical regimens. Collaborate with providers to develop care plans, teach and supervise other personnel, and accurately record all assessments and nursing acts. Maintain safe and effective care standards while managing pain and symptom management for diverse patient needs. Work Friday through Sunday shifts with weekend premiums, adhering to strict infection control protocols and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Valid NC RN license
- Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance
- Knowledge of Federal, State and Local regulations and Medicare Conditions of Participation
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy rules and regulations
- Knowledge of electronic medical records systems
- Demonstrate basic data entry skills
- Demonstrate excellent organization skills
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to take initiative and utilize innovative techniques and ingenuity
- Ability to interact with various departments throughout the organization

- Demonstrate skill/expertise in pain and symptom management

- Demonstrate understanding of reimbursement, regulatory requirements, and Medicare Conditions of Participation
- Must be willing and able to care for patients with infectious disease processes unless approved accommodations
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for Friday, Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 8PM shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. often
- Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, reach, twist, crouch/squat, kneel
- Must be able to flex/extend arms/wrist
- Must have hand dexterity to include gripping, pushing/pulling and writing
Desired Qualifications
- Two years of clinical experience preferred
