Job Summary
RN - Weekend Option in the Emergency Department provides patient care using the nursing process within Mercy. Responsibilities include coordinating patient care with other departments, upholding patient rights and confidentiality, and maintaining professional accountability. Requires graduation from a nursing program (AD, Diploma, or BSN) and an active RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure; BLS certification (and other certifications as required by unit) is required within specified timeframes. The role emphasizes adherence to the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework, application of the nursing process, and collaboration with the healthcare team to deliver safe, effective care.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Current RN license in hiring state and/or compact licensure
- Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association) or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
- ACLS and/or other unit-specific certifications as required by position/unit (e.g., NRP, ENPC, TNCC, PALS, PEARS, CPN, C-EFM, etc.)
