Job Summary
Provide patient care for adult medical patients with diagnoses such as small bowel obstructions, respiratory infections, cellulitis, diverticulitis, and pneumonia using the nursing process while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate patient care with other departments, evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers, and ensure patient rights and confidentiality are upheld. Perform duties consistent with Mercy's mission, values, and service standards. Requires current Missouri RN licensure, BLS certification, and ability to lift 50 lbs, stand, and walk throughout the shift. Full-time weekend night rotation (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with up to $10,000 sign-on bonus for experienced nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with one of the following: Associate Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Must hold and maintain a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Missouri or possess compact licensure, in accordance with state board of nursing regulations
- Previous hospital experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Prolonged standing and walking throughout the shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat as needed to perform nursing duties
- Weekend, Night Shift
