Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned adolescent psychiatric inpatients while coordinating with interdisciplinary teams. Process psychiatric emergencies, manage agitated patients through seclusion or restraint, and provide crisis resolution in collaboration with psychiatrists. Conduct comprehensive assessments, interpret findings to initiate interprofessional care plans, and oversee delegation to licensed practical nurses and other support staff. Administer psychotropic medications, monitor efficacy and side effects, and provide patient and family education on conditions and self-care. Facilitate group therapy sessions including medication and support groups, maintain patient safety protocols, and document all care services in department records.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
  • Strong leadership ability
  • Good organizational skills
  • Independent and critical thinking skills
  • Sound judgment
  • Knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice
  • Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience
  • Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • One (1) to two (2) years' experience in Nursing preferred
