Job Summary
Provide patient care for assigned patients using the Mercy Nursing Conceptual Framework and nursing process while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate care with other departments and uphold patient rights and confidentiality of information. Maintain a current RN license and obtain required certifications such as BLS, ACLS, or unit-specific modules within the department's timeframe. Perform duties involving lifting up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing, and walking during each shift. This full-time weekend 7-day night role offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, tuition support, and matched retirement plans for team members working 32+ hours per pay period.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: BLS (Basic Life Support)
