Job Summary
The RN Weekend is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for patients in a post-surgical unit. Key duties include coordinating with the interdisciplinary team, maintaining patient confidentiality, assuring quality of care, and documenting patient services. The RN will also ensure compliance with infection control policies, promote patient independence through education, and provide emotional support. Additionally, the position involves oversight of nursing staff and maintaining the nursing supply inventory. Candidates must hold a valid RN license and have strong leadership and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program required.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) approved curriculum of the American Heart Association (CPR and AED) program required.
- Strong leadership ability, good organizational skills, independent and critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and knowledge of legal aspects and liability of nursing practice.
- Strong ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
- One (1) year medical-surgical experience.
