Job Summary
Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) provides nursing care to patients of varying ages using the nursing process and standards. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive assessments from admission to discharge, administering medications per policies, planning care with patient and family, implementing nursing interventions to meet patient and family needs, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team, ensuring patient safety and compliance with HIPAA, supervising students and orienting new staff, and supporting nurse residency activities. The role may involve acting as relief charge nurse and participating in evidence-based practice activities; education requirements include an Associate’s Degree with BSN progression and licensure/certification as required. Shift: First Shift, Part-time, Weekend schedule in Louisville, KY.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program (required)
- New-hire Associate Degree RNs required to start BSN within 1 year and complete within 3 years (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from accredited program (preferred)
- Two years hospital patient care experience (preferred)
- Licensure: Current KY RN licensure or compact license with privileges to work in Kentucky (required)
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by AHA (required)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required for specific areas
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) may be required for specific areas
