Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (Hospital-Based) provides nursing care to patients across age groups using the nursing process and current standards; independently administers medications; collaborates with patients, families, and multi-disciplinary teams to develop and implement age-appropriate plans of care; supports patient safety and quality outcomes, coordinates education for patients and families, and participates in discharge planning. The role requires adherence to HIPAA, ongoing competency development, and active engagement in evidence-based practice and professional growth. The position may include duties such as orienting new staff and acting as relief charge nurse when needed. Education path includes an Associate’s Degree in Nursing (required) with a BSN target within three years; licensure in Kentucky or a compact license; BLS certification; and potential requirement for PALS/ACLS in certain areas.
